What to bring
We want you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay at Du Nord Ski Club, so we have compiled of list of recommended items for you to bring along with you. Some are considered essential, others are optional.
There are very limited options to purchase items once you are in the resort, and what is available can be quite expensive, so it’s best to bring everything you need with you when you come.

To get the most out of your trip to Mt Baw Baw, make sure you review these important checklists.
Winter Season / Snow Season – Essentials

Snow chains

During the declared snow season, it is a legal requirement that you carry snow chains for your vehicle, and use them if you are required to do so. Aside from the fact that it's unsafe for your passengers and other road users if you drive in snow without chains, heavy fines apply if you are found to be without them. For more information on chain hire, please our equipment hire page.
Warm clothes

For snow season bookings, each person will need a waterproof outer layer (pants, jacket and gloves), boots, plenty of socks and some items to layer under your snow gear (thermals recommended). You can hire waterproof outerwear and boots on the mountain if required. Scarves and beanies are also great for keeping warm outdoors. For inside the lodge, we recommend you bring some comfy clothes, warm pyjamas and some slippers or ugg boots. Even in the summer months it can get quite cool overnight so make sure you bring some long-sleeved tops and pants.

Bedding
You must bring linen sheets and/or a sleeping bag plus a pillowcase for each person. If you prefer to rent them, linen packs are available for hire from Guest Services. Note that these must be ordered at the time you make your accommodation booking. The packs contain sheets, pillowcases, bath towel, hand towel, face washer and basic toiletries. For pricing, please check with Guest Services at the resort. All beds are standard single mattress size except Room #1 which contains a double-size bed. We provide, pillows, quilts (with covers) and lots of woollen blankets.
Towels and toiletries
Liquid soap is provided at the hand basins but guests are required to provide their own toiletries (such as shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste).
Food and drinks
If you wish to self-cater, you will need to bring your own provisions for meals, drinks and snacks during your stay. Our kitchen is fully equipped with a large walk-in pantry/ cold store, fridges and freezer, 2 large ovens, 3 sets of gas stove top burners, 2 microwaves, toaster and sandwich press, pots and utensils, glassware, crockery and cutlery. On mountain options for purchasing food and drinks include Cafe 11, The Village Restaurant and the Skiosk.

Ski equipment
If you’re visiting in snow season, you’ll probably be looking to ski, snowboard and/or toboggan. Equipment is available for hire on the mountain from Mt Baw Baw Ski Hire. We highly recommend on-mountain hire for the simple reason that if you have any issues with your gear, the hire store is right there to assist you with any swaps or adjustments you may need.

Walking or hiking equipment
If you’re visiting in the green season, you may be looking to take a short walk or a longer hike.
For shorter walks, a water bottle and a snack may be all you need. Paths around the village are relatively well signposted, and the green grass swathes that mark the location of the ski slopes serve to orient walkers who are heading for the nearby peak of Mt Baw Baw.

Those choosing to take a longer hike will need to bring their own equipment as hiking equipment is not currently available for hire on the mountain. Please note that camping is not permitted inside the boundaries of the resort but those walkers who are seeking to do an overnight hike may use walking trails leading from Baw Baw Village to connect with bushwalking and alpine camping options on the nearby Australian Alps Walking Track (Great Alpine Walking Trail).
